Out Now!! Our Album Titled “Destination X”

Destination X” is more than just a song or album—it’s a movement. A modern fusion of blues and jazz, this track pays tribute to the legendary artists who shaped music while reimagining their sound for today’s world. With rich instrumentation, soulful melodies, and a deep groove, Destination X bridges the gap between the raw emotion of old-school music and the innovation of contemporary production.

Driven by a passion to redefine how new music is produced and played, Destination X challenges the industry’s status quo. It brings back the authenticity, musicianship, and storytelling that made blues and jazz timeless, infusing it with fresh energy to resonate with modern audiences. The result is a sound that feels both nostalgic and revolutionary—honoring the past while paving the way for the future.

Just Released Live Single “Destination X”

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – September 18, 2024 – Carnival Xhibition, the Funky “Bone Rock” band, today announced that the new release of its new uplifting and fun single, “Destination X,” is climbing the social media charts. The bluesy soul song pays tribute to original American Blues artists such as Robert Johnson from Mississippi and icons from Chicago, Memphis, and St. Louis, who founded the unique artform known as “The Blues.”

Lashawn Bowens, aka Slickfoot, is the rock ’n’ soul band’s singer, bassist and tap dancer. He is joined by Daniel Edell, aka Steam Machine, its guitarist and songwriter. For the past ten years, the band’s acoustic shows share a wonderful intimacy and draw audiences with timely messages on cultural issues and values. One of the band’s main themes is that musicians from different backgrounds can make magic.

Carnival Xhibition’s unique band name calls out various musical styles. The band likes to describe itself as a mix of Tina Turner’s rock ’n’ soul, a folk sound like that of” Mumford and Sons,” and the alternative rock inspiration piece celebrating the spirit of the “Red Hot Chili Peppers.”

Slickfoot and Steam Machine have interesting musical pasts. Lashawn grew up in an artistic family, with dad the musician and mom the dancer inspiring her musical journey. Daniel Edell, found his passion for music at 12, playing trombone in the school band. Carnival Xhibition is the vehicle for the two creatives as they travel on a quest to overcome cultural barriers. Their music makes it clear to the world that people from varied backgrounds can create musical magic.

“Our audiences love that we combine all sorts of music styles, from alternative funk to alternative rock music and a just a hint of relatable folk,” said Slickfoot and Steam Machine. “It is so much fun to play music that does not conform to only one style. Call us a band that plays an innovative style, called ‘Bone Rock,’ our personal take on rock, blues, funk, soul and alternative folk.”

Carnival Xhibition Baby Boomin’

Carnival Xhibition Baby Boomin’

Organic guitar and jazz-kissed hi-hats lead us intriguingly into the alternative yet melodically alluring Baby Boomin’. The track rises and evolves into a bright and beautiful groove, with soulful vocals at the forefront and superb unity between all involved. It’s a genre-fusing beauty, and a fine introduction to Carnival Xhibition.

Freshly released from the 2023 EP The Circus In Town, Baby Boomin’ stands tall initially on the strength of that familiar yet fresh guitar lick, looping and creating a sense of intimacy and independent energy; akin to the likes of Incubus or softer releases from indie bands past and present.

Soon enough, Baby Boomin’ weaves in a worthy saxophone solo, simple yet striking; and recorded with a brilliant tone to really capture the live energy. This follows the progression of short lines, growing anticipation as we approach each chorus, and is proceeded by that same recognisable presence during the final quarter.

Really nicely done, an indie anthem with a smooth dash of soul and pop to light up the outer edges and ultimately deliver a mainstream-ready, genre-free or uninhibited song; one that naturally lingers in the mind long after the music has stopped.
